How do I allow access to my camera and microphone on Chrome?

If you're not able to use your camera or microphone inside of the Extension, check your Chrome Site Settings here and make sure the camera and microphone permissions are set accordingly

Why does it say "Screen Recording Denied"?

If you're on a PC, please see the other troubleshooting suggestions in this article, restart your Chrome browser, and reach out to [email protected] if the issue persists.

If you're on a Mac, the "Security and Privacy" settings will contain the "Screen Recording" menu. Here is where you can ensure that Chrome is in the list of allowed applications. See the below screenshot for an example.

Why did my recording upload fail?

There is a variety of reasons as to why the recording may have failed. It could be something to do with your network connection, a memory issue on your computer, or something else. You can try to re-upload failed recordings by following the steps in this article, or uninstall and reinstall the Extension to give it another go.

I chose to record in 1080p but my final recording is showing a max resolution of 720p, why?

This is likely due to a limitation of your screen resolution. If the resolution of your computer screen is anything less than 1920 x 1080, Searchie will not be able to create a 1080p video with your recording.

My Extension Recording was cut off, what should I do?

Try the following steps to stop your recording from cutting off in the future.

• Close any unused tabs/apps

• Check your computer's memory - if your device is low on RAM this could be problematic

• Check your battery level - we recommend recording when you're plugged into a power source

• Check your upload speed - a good estimate for recordings is 5mbps to record successfully

• Use a stable internet connection
